As part of its longstanding Berthold Goldman Lecture series, the Arbitration Academy invites each year a prominent arbitration figure to present a landmark case that has shaped international arbitration.
As the Arbitration Academy celebrates its fifteenth anniversary, this year’s Berthold Goldman Lecture will be given by founding Partner, Yas Banifatemi on the Anglo-Iranian Oil Co. case (United Kingdom v. Iran).
The Arbitration Academy was founded in 2011 by the late Professor Emmanuel Gaillard who served as the Academy’s first President, alongside Yas Banifatemi who served as the Academy’s first co-Secretary General. Yas Banifatemi currently sits on the Academy’s Board of Directors. Benjamin Siino, a Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya founding partner, was elected to act as the Aademy co-secretary-general effective 1 January 2026.
The Berthold Goldman Lecture will take place at the Cercle de l’Union Interalliée in Paris, on 6 July 2026, 18:00-19:30. It will be followed by a cocktail reception. As places are limited, we highly recommend you register at your earliest convenience using the link below.
