Honoring Professor Gaillard through donations

To honor Professor Gaillard, his family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Great Plains Foundation to support the fight against elephant poaching.

All donations in honor of Professor Gaillard will be used in support of the Motswiri Anti-Poaching Unit in the Selinda Reserve. This field camp and anti-poaching unit sit at a critical and vulnerable boundary between the Selinda Reserve, neighboring community conservancies and local villages. Having a conservation presence at this boundary helps ensure the protection of the full range of species that call the Selinda Reserve home, but in particular the elephants who traverse the Selinda Reserve as part of an unfenced migratory corridor with Botswana’s Chobe National Park. The Great Plains Foundation has indicated that it will be honored to accept donations from Professor Gaillard’s friends and colleagues to support the on-going protection of this stunning corner of wild Africa.

How to donate
  • Donate online at https://greatplainsfoundation.com/donate
  • In the “message” field below your email address please include “In honor of Prof. Emmanuel Gaillard.” Anything with this designation will be tracked and used in support of the Motswiri Anti-Poaching Unit in the Selinda Reserve.
