Benjamin Siino, Speaker in a roundtable on the New York Convention (26 February 2026)

Benjamin Siino will participate in a roundtable titled “Around the World in 80 Stays – does the New York Convention really facilitate asset recovery?” to take place at the Asset Recovery International 2026 conference in Dublin on 26 February 2026.

The discussion will focus on challenges to enforcement, strategies adopted by the defendants, and how they can be addressed by the claimants. Other participants in the roundtable are Constantine Partasides, Barbara Concolino, Fang Zhao and Rachel Halligan.

Benjamin Siino is widely viewed as one of the foremost enforcement specialists globally. In addition to leading the team serving as global enforcement coordinator on behalf of the majority shareholders of the former Yukos Oil Company in proceedings to enforce a historic award, now valued at USD 60 billion, secured by members of Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes against the Russian Federation, Benjamin Siino has done extensive research on the New York Convention while serving as Research Assistant and Co-Team Leader of the New York Convention Guide Project, a project developed in cooperation with UNCITRAL and Columbia University on the implementation of the 1958 Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (aka the “1958 New York Convention”), with a view to promoting its uniform application around the world.
